what's happening this month - and a little peek ahead for 2026
Happy New Year! Our newsletter received a bit of neglect towards the end of 2025 and I plan to change that as we step into 2026. so sorry!!
I would love to share with you about a few ways to find me this month, my early plans for 2026 - and some goals and aspirations ( and maybe a small ask for those in the Chicago area ). I’m really excited for you to be here, I hope you’ll stick around!

A quick intermission to share updates on what’s happening as we start off the year -
KNITTING PATTERNS
This month we will be releasing a new knitting pattern, as well as our first knitting class ( for those in Seattle ). The pattern and class will feature the Headband - a perfect easy knit to practice on, use up extra yarn ( it’s a perfect companion to the Watch Cap because you can knit a hat + headband from 1 skein of yarn )
The class will be on Wednesday January 28th from 6-8pm at Studio Forma in Seattle and space is LIMITED. We will release tickets to class shortly, so keep an eye out!
I will continue to work on and release new patterns here and there, and my goal is to release a self-published book this coming fall + winter. I can’t wait!!
Find the Watch Cap Knitting pattern on our website ( new patterns will be under this link in the near future ) and tag us on social #watchcapbeanie when you make yours!
PHOTOGRAPHY + BUSINESS SUPPORT
We are bringing back our monthly Headshot Mini sessions ( first Tuesday of every month ) and will be held at Studio Forma. Think big open indoor space, ample natural light, modern industrial vibes. Our first date comes up on Tuesday February 3rd - it’s a quick, fun and easy 15 minute session for $350 that will get you a fresh start on 2026.
Sign up here and reserve your spot - feel free to share this with your network!
In case you didn’t know, I have been a professional photographer for over 20 years, taught workshops, and traveled along the west coast producing and photographing fashion & commercial campaigns for brands, boutiques and small business owners.
CHICAGO?
This year we are focused on expanding our Chicago/Midwest customer base. With plans to spend more time in my absolute favorite city - I am hopeful to connect with more people and community there.
If you have a connection to someone looking to sublet their apartment in September I would love to chat. If you have a favorite AirBnb, restaurant or shop - please share. If you would love to collaborate on a pop-up, photoshoot, carry the Beanie in your store, or just generally connect please reach out. I am really excited to dive into more opportunities in this city I am quickly growing so fond of. TYSM!!!
lastly, for the love of my sanity - please email me with all the important stuff:
I am signing off of Instagram DMs in 2026.
love you, mean it.

333 ! with 4 months left to go, we are more than halfway to our goal of 500 Beanies. I would not be here without you - without your orders, support and messages about how much you love your Beanie.
This is truly the definition of slow fashion. I make each Beanie myself - and cannot express enough how much I appreciate your patience and understanding. The art of knitting something by hand is that it takes time. Sustainable, handmade fashion is SLOW FASHION. I put so much love and attention into each one - knowing how much you are going to love and cherish the Beanie once it arrives. I promise - they are worth the wait.
Place an order for your own Beanie - and join Club Beanie this year!
Michelle Moore is a Seattle-based creative, vintage curator, photographer, writer and educator. You can catch her at an up-coming pop-up, swing by on a night she’s hosting at the restaurant in Ballard, order one of her hand-knit Beanies, or hire her to host & plan your next event.
connecting you with good clothes + good people.
